I came from a family who deeply valued the importance of education and knew the benefit of living in a great school district such as Wyoming.
I will focus on continuing the tradition that Wyoming has earned for having a great educational system and I'll work to keep our competitive advantage and strive for excellence in everything we do.
With over 20 years of experience volunteering in Wyoming, over 6 years serving on several boards, and 3 years living internationally, I know what it takes to solicit diverse points of view, unite people to find solutions to move forward as one proud Wyoming.

Two Wyoming High School Students Moderating Virtual Candidate Forum with WINDS on October 27th.
WINDS is hosting two candidate forums, one for city council candidates at 6:00pm and another for school board candidates at 7:00pm. The forum is set up as a Zoom webinar for security reasons, so the chat is disabled and attendees are by default audio/video muted, while participants (moderators, tech support, and candidates) have full participation and the ability to mute/unmute and feature video. All participants and attendees will need a Zoom account (not a paid one, just a login) since it is in Zoom Webinar (not a regular Zoom meeting) format. The Board of Education has selected Justin Buckner to complete the remaining six months of the term made available by the resignation of Aaron Meis.
Mr. Buckner graduated from Wyoming High School in 1993 (the same year he was named a Wyoming Citizen of the Year). Since graduating with a degree in economics from Princeton University, Mr. Buckner has had broad professional success in business analysis, organizational leadership, engagement, and strategic planning while working at Procter & Gamble and Health Carousel. He is currently the Director of Human Resources at Luxottica.
Outside of Wyoming, Mr. Buckner was named a YMCA Black Achiever in 2005, was a Cincinnati Business Courier “40 Under 40” winner in 2009, and has served on the Cincinnati Public Radio board since 2015. In Wyoming City Schools, Mr. Buckner has served as the Wyoming City Schools Board of Education representative to the Great Oaks Board of Directors since 2016. He served two terms on the Wyoming City Schools Citizens Advisory Committee and is currently a Wyoming High School Alumni Association Trustee. Additionally, Mr. Buckner has been a valued resource for our high school students sharing his experiences and interview and communication skills with junior-year English classes for most of the past 12 years.
